Description:

The young male voice ensemble Jesualdo Six Finally record Jesualdo's great works, new "Record of the Month" on Hyperion label March 2022! The "Jesualdo Six" is a young British male a capella ensemble founded in 2014 and specializing in Renaissance polyphony. Its director, Owain Park, born in 1993, is a gifted musician, composer, conductor, singer, and organist who has expanded his activities at a young age. He is Senior Organ Scholar at Trinity College Cambridge and Wells Cathedral, and his work has been recorded by Tenebrae, the Choir of Trinity College Cambridge, and the Choir of Wells Cathedral, and as a singer he is an Associate Artist of Tenebrae, As a singer, she has been an associate artist with Tenebrae and has also performed with Polyphony and the Dunedin Consort. In this work, the ensemble will finally focus on Carlo Jesualdo's major work "Tenebrae Responsoria for Holy Thursday," which is also the ensemble's name, and will be performed in parallel with Thomas Tallis' masterpiece "Jeremiah's Lament" and short motets of the 21st century by two contemporary composers, This is a recital of the kind of precision that only Jesualdo Six could have dared. It has also been selected as a "Record of the Month" for the new March 2022 release on the Hyperion label. Tenebrae Responsoria" is one of the best-known pieces of religious music composed by Gesualdo. "Tenebrae" refers to the morning prayers (midnight or dawn prayers) and hymns that commemorate the Passion of Christ during the last three days of the week before Easter. His previous album, "Josquin's Legacy" (PCDA68379), received great acclaim and was selected as a "Special Recording Artists' Choice" and "Editor's Choice" by Gramophone magazine. This album is also a disc of great interest! Tokyo M-Plus
