The third concerto by Dana Zemtsov, a beautiful thoroughbred of the viola world, is a viola concerto! Dana Zemtsov was born into an elite family of viola players: both of her parents are world-renowned viola players (Mikhail Zemtsov and Julia Dinnerstein), and her uncle, Alexander Zemtsov, was a renowned violist who played principal viola at the LPO. She was educated by her grandmother and parents from an early age. She studied with Mikhail Kugel at the Maastricht Conservatory of Music and has won many competitions in Europe, and is also known for her chamber music performances with Janine Jansen. The third album by such a young and remarkable violist, Dana Zemtsov, is her first recording with an orchestra. It is a collection of works for viola and orchestra written by Bartók, Brahms, Bloch, Paganini, and her teacher, Mikhail Kugel (Bloch and Paganini were also arranged by Kugel).Dana Zemtsov, who was born in Mexico to Jewish-Russian parents, studied at the French School in Norway, and grew up in the Netherlands, grew up with strong cross-cultural and multicultural influences, and shows her talent in a collection of works richly imbued with folk, cultural, and religious flavors. The up-and-coming Russian conductor Daniel Raiskin, who conducted the Slovak Philharmonic Orchestra, and the Estonian National Symphony Orchestra provide excellent support. Tokyo M-Plus
