The album received negative reviews from critics when it was released, but as the years went by, the album gained recognition for its wonderful elements, such as its adventurous aesthetic, layered harmonies, and heartfelt lyrics about loss and confusion.Although released as David Crosby's solo album, this album is not his solo project, but rather a collaboration with an all-star cast that includes members of the Grateful Dead and Jefferson Airplane, as well as Santana, Graham Nash, Joni Mitchell, Neil Young, and a host of others.
