Description:

Chopin International Competition for Period Instruments Live! 2nd Prize! Shigehiko Kawaguchi! The 2nd live recording of the 1st International Chopin Competition for Period Instruments! Shigehiko Kawaguchi, the 2nd prize winner of the 1st International Chopin Competition for Period Instruments, was a hot topic of conversation among piano fans and fans of ancient music. The Polish National Institute of Chopin (NIFC), which runs the competition, presents the second installment of its live recording series. Following the first release by Tomasz Littel (NIFCCD634), this album features the long-awaited appearance of Shigehiko Kawaguchi, who won the second prize. Shigehiko Kawaguchi was born in Iwate Prefecture in 1989. He has performed concertos with the 18th Century Orchestra and the Orkiestra Historyczna, and in 2018 he performed a piano concerto in chamber music form with members of the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra in the Netherlands. In 2018, she performed a recital of a chamber piano concerto with members of the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra in the Netherlands, and she is active in the forefront of music beyond the boundaries of modern and period instruments. He has won many brilliant awards, including the highest prize at the Bruges International Competition for Ancient Music, a gateway to success for young ancient instrumentalists, and the first prize at the 1st International Rome Fortepiano Competition (M. Clementi Prize), as well as the second prize at the 1st International Chopin Competition for Period Instruments in 2018, which this album is also the result of. With this award, he is now attracting a great deal of attention as a young keyboard player's hope. With a musicality that has been nurtured through many encounters with many historical keyboard instruments, she brings out the potential of the famous instruments of Chopin's time and beautifully recreates the sounds of the time that many audiences would have heard.
