The work is an ambitious work that tackles avant-garde techniques, with lyrics that focus on the theme of death! He is currently Principal Guest Conductor of the BBC Philharmonic and the National Arts Centre Orchestra of Canada. He has since demonstrated his outstanding ability with George Antheil's orchestral works (CHAN 10941, CHAN 10982, CHAN 20080). In recent years, he has also made a well-received tour of Japan with the Tokyo Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra in January 2023.Following the release of Shostakovich's "Symphony No. 11" (RCHSA 5278/CHSA 5278) in 2020, which was highly acclaimed as a Record Art Special Selection & Excellent Recording and a "Critics' Choice" by Gramophone magazine, and "No. 12" and "No. 15" ( RCHSA 5334/CHSA 5334), and "No. 14" (RCHSA 5334/CHSA 5334). The lyrics of this work are based on the theme of "death" by four poets, and the orchestra is a special composition of strings and percussion. Expect a high quality recording of this work, which only the "Chandos label" can provide, and an interpretation by Stoolgård, who has a reputation for creating precise music from the score.
