A Russian prodigy who won the prestigious Honens Prize! Pavel Koresnikov’s second Chopin album! Born in Siberia, Russia, in 1989, Pavel Koresnikov won the “Honens International Piano Competition” in Canada in 2012—a competition renowned for offering the world’s highest prize money and generous support for musical pursuits. Currently based in the UK, he is a rising star garnering global attention, having been selected for the BBC’s “New Generation Artists Scheme” from 2014 to 2016. In Japan, he stepped in as a substitute for Hélène Mercier at the 2013 Dumas & Kansai Philharmonic concert and successfully gave his first recital in Japan in January 2018. In June 2019, he also performed at Yamaha Hall and the Suntory Hall Chamber Music Garden, continuing to gain fans in Japan. This is her second Chopin album, following *Mazurka Collection* (CDA68137), which earned high international acclaim, including the French *Diapason d’Or* award and a nomination for the British *Gramophone Award*. We present an intellectually crafted recital program combining four impromptus—including the “Fantaisie-Impromptu”—with exquisite waltzes and mazurkas, all performed on the Yamaha CFX Concert Grand Piano with its brilliant tone.
