One of Cluytens' most famous recordings, a collection of Bizet's works, mastered and SACD-ed with the latest! Faust" - the first SACD release - and ballet music are also included. The sound of the time is faithfully reproduced! Newly reissued from the original analog master tapes. Both recordings were re-recorded by Cluytens, but they are still in stereo and are masterpieces among the masterpieces. This Bizet performance has been reissued many times and still has a large following. The French flavor of the time is still present here and there, and the sound of the wind instruments, including the solos, is especially outstanding, as well as the various famous pieces. The faithful approach to the music and the variety of sounds that Cluytens brings out from the orchestra make this a truly historical performance. Also on this release is Gounod: "Faust" - ballet music, also well known for its melodic beauty. This famous album has been mastered separately on the SACD and CD layers, using a master digitized at 192kHz/24bit from the original analog master tapes in its home country for this release. New commentary is included. This is a permanent edition. Since the first issue of this project, which featured Beethoven's complete symphonies with the Berlin Philharmonic (TDSA1), Cluytens has reissued several works, including operas.This Bizet is a long awaited reissue. These must be the best of the best recordings left in stereo, even though they are re-recordings. This time, we have added Gounod's "Faust" - ballet music, which was not included in the previous commercial release, so you can enjoy a number of masterpieces in high sound quality. What is common to all the recordings from this period is Cluytens' sincere attitude toward the music and his diverse musical views. In addition, the sound of the French orchestras of the time is truly wonderful, and the fact that many of the masterpieces feature wind instruments in particular makes them even more appealing. The sound of the Orchestre de la Conservatoire de Paris, which had some of the best players in France at that time, has already been lost, and the revival of this sound, which can only be heard in the remaining recordings, is nothing less than the most recent reissue of this work. The attractive tones of the flute, oboe, and especially the bassoon and horn appear again and again. Please enjoy their exquisite pauses as well. The delicacy of the strings is also attractive. (1/2)
