Description:
Schacht (1748-1823) was a composer of the German Baroque period. He received his first musical instruction from the Regensburg court musician Joseph Riepel, and in 1766 became a pupil of Niccolò Yommelli in Stuttgart. He then returned to Regensburg, where he was appointed court music director from 1773 and became a leading figure in the court music world, while at the same time promoting Italian opera in the tradition of Yommelli. in 1796 he received special status from the royal court, after which he traveled to Vienna as a free composer and Haydn is also known for writing works associated with Beethoven, Archduke Rudolf, and Napoleon. Following the first collection of Haydn's lively Sinfonias, this second collection offers three lively Sinfonias based on classical forms. As in the first collection, the Evergreen Orchestra and Gernot Schmalfs from Taiwan, who specialize in works from this period, perform these works. Naxos Japan
