São Paulo Panic" is a sextet of up-and-coming jazz artists of different nationalities, including Dani Gurgel & Thiago Havelo of DDG4, who are well known in Japan. The result is an exciting album full of talent and a blend of various musical styles! Summer in Brazil is far from the word "panic," but rather a time when the fruit is ripe and time can be spent in the studio. Six artists met at the Jazzfest Jazzahead! through the German label Berthold, and just a few months later they gathered in São Paulo to begin work on a brand new, but by no means easy album in the Da Pa Virada studio. With different backgrounds, concepts, and ideas as professional musicians, could the band come together to create a unique sound? The album "Sao Paulo Panic" could never have been created by any of the musicians individually, but only by this group of musicians. Listening to this album, you would surely think that the sextet must have been playing together for a long time. You would never guess that it was only a few days. The talented artists have come together to weave an exciting blend of various musical styles. "I've played in a lot of bands in a hierarchical style, and it's refreshing to see everyone on equal footing," says saxophonist Timo, and vocalist Dani adds, "I've played in a lot of bands in a hierarchical style, but this is a great opportunity for everyone to play together. And vocalist Dani adds. "We met out of the blue, and then we got to know each other and respect what each of us has inherited from our ancestors. If we had summed up the album in one sentence, it would be an album that belongs to no one.
