A Collection of Mozart's Pearl Sonatas and Rondos Played by Jerome Antai on Instruments Contemporary to Mozart Mozart is known for his travels. Many of his works were born out of necessity while on the road. For example, the Piano Sonata in C major, K309, was written for 13-year-old Rosa Cannabich in Mannheim during the winter of 1777/78, and the Sonata in B flat major, K333, was written for his own concert in Linz in 1781. Jerome Anthey was born in Mozart's home town of Linz in 1781. Jerome Anthey has also included a gem of a rondo and an excerpt from the Suite in C major, both written on instruments made in the 18th century at the same time as Mozart's. This is a disc to be enjoyed while thinking about the tones of the time. Jerome Anthey (keyboard) is one of the three Anthey brothers. While studying viola da gamba with Wieland Kuijken, he became interested in historical keyboard instruments. He has played both gamba and keyboard with Sigiswald Kuiken, Jacobs, and Margoire.
