Description:
Alice in Chains 1990 analog release of Facelift Along with Nirvana, Pearl Jam, and Soundgarden, Alice in Chains dominated the Seattle scene in the 1990s as one of the four major bands. Although they were lumped together as "alternative" due to the trends of the times, they were more like "Black Sabbath of the 90s" with their glam-tinged heavy metal sound, and were selected to support Ozzy on his tours. After the release of this album, Mike Inez, bassist for the Ozzy Band at the time, joined the band, and guitarist Jerry Cantrell later joined the Ozzy Band, showing that Ozzy recognized the band. Despite the great success of all three albums as a band, the band's activities were cut short by the drug problems of vocalist Lane Staley, and in 2002 Lane died, leaving the band in a state of spontaneous dissolution. Two of the four original members have already passed away, making them a tragic band. The band sold a total of 35 million copies of all their albums worldwide, which is an extraordinary success considering the small number of their albums. This first album is the memorable debut of Alichen, which sold 2 million copies!
