Billy Strings, the “Bluegrass Prodigy” who has garnered attention in Japan for his free-spirited playing style and technical skill, has completed his latest album, *SOMUCHFORGOODBYES*, dedicated to his late mother and produced by T-Bone Burnett. A three-time Grammy Award-winning singer-songwriter, he has won the Best Bluegrass Album award at the 63rd Grammy Awards in 2020 since his debut in 2017, was named Artist of the Year at the 2022 and 2023 Americana Music Awards, and has won Entertainer of the Year at the International Bluegrass Music Awards for three consecutive years. GQ magazine hailed him as “the hottest roots music phenomenon of the past few decades.” His previous album, *HIGHWAYPRAYERS*, debuted at No. 1 on Billboard’s Top Album Sales chart and earned him his third Grammy Award at the 68th Grammy Awards, marking his second consecutive win for Best Bluegrass Album. This new album, his first in about two years, features 16 tracks and is his most musically mature and introspective collection to date, reflecting a deeply personal period in his life. The lead track is “Burn The Other End,” co-written with Paul Hoffman. The album cover features artwork by his mother, Debra Apostle, who passed away last year; the album was created to honor her and come to terms with his loss.
