Newly remastered soundtrack for the 1973 film QUANDO L'AMORE E SENSUALITA (A Time for Love and Sex), directed by Vittorio De Sisti One of the unsung gems of Ennio Morricone's productions, this is a " Morricone Segreto" is a manifesto of the concept. With its tonal experimentation and compositional complexity, it demonstrates the psychedelic side of the maestro's most obscure and dark tones and his unbridled creativity. The score beautifully mirrors the bourgeois hypocrisy depicted in Vittorio De Sisti's cult film, completed by the striking contrast between the obsessive, repetitive sounds (representing male rage) and the exuberant, crystalline, ethereal elements (symbolizing female innocence). Edda Dell'Orso, Morricone's longtime "crystal voice," best known for her work on Sergio Leone's "Gangs of the Sunset," is featured on seven tracks and makes an integral contribution to the soundtrack's uniqueness.The third track, the enigmatic "Vie-Ni" (one of the most beloved songs on "Morricone Segreto"), is representative of what one might expect from this soundtrack. A disturbing and mysterious synthesizer is played over a tribal drum beat, which is soon interrupted by a children's chorus that relentlessly repeats the two syllables of the title. The eerie children's voices featured in the previous piece are used even more insistently here. It is one of Morricone's trademarks and one of the features that made the Italian soundtracks of the 1970s so highly regarded and recognized worldwide. The psychedelic progressive "Nascosta nell'ombra," with its wah-wah guitars and electric organ, is also a favorite of the maestro's groovy repertoire. It is completely unreleased on CD and digital platforms (except for tracks 3 and 9, which premiered on "Morricone Segreto" [2020]), and tracks 12-22 (sides C and D) are also first released on vinyl. 2LP also available.
