Italian recording of the chamber music version of Stein's arrangement of "Mara 4"! The Italians have recorded a chamber music version of Mahler's "Symphony No. 4" arranged by Erwin Stein in 1921! Stein's version of Mara 4 features soprano, flute, oboe, clarinet, two violins, viola, cello, double bass, piano, harmonium, and percussion, with accordion in place of harmonium. Ensemble Giulio Rusconi is an Italian chamber orchestra formed in 2013 at the urging of Marco Pisoni. It boasts a wide repertoire ranging from Bach to modern and contemporary works. The conductor, Dario Galegnani, is an assistant to Mauricio Kagel and was responsible for the Iranian premiere of Schoenberg's "Pierrot Possessed by the Moon". He has been particularly active in the field of modern and contemporary music, and his skillful baton work on the small Mahler cycle was superb this time as well. Tokyo M-Plus
