Includes two of Liszt's concertos, reflecting the corrections Liszt indicated after publication! Three Liszt works by popular French pianist Beatrice Belyeu. All of these works were more than 20 years in the making from their first sketches to their final publication. It is noteworthy that the Piano Concerto is performed by applying corrections to the score after publication, which were written by Liszt's pupil Bülow and are believed to be Liszt's instructions. Although the first edition of No. 1 was written in 1834, it was laid down until 1839, when he began No. 2. By 1840, he had completed both once, but never played them in public, and No. 1 was premiered in 1855 with Berlioz conducting and Liszt himself at the piano. The first performance of No. 1 was given in 1855 with Berlioz conducting and Liszt himself at the piano, and the premiere of No. 2 was given in 1857 with Liszt conducting and Bronsart at the piano. Both were published, but the score in the possession of Liszt's pupil Bülow shows some corrections that appear to have been made at Liszt's direction, and here Beyleux applies these handwritten corrections to these works.Even without such considerations, it goes without saying that Beleu's superb technique and large scale playing, as well as the ensemble with the orchestra that supports it, are well worth listening to.
