Moniuszko, Stanislaw (1819-1872)

Mosciuszko (1819-1872) was one of the leading Polish opera composers of the 19th century and is said to have bridged the gap between Chopin and Szymanowski. Although he was born almost at the same time as Chopin, he remained in Poland and devoted himself to raising the standard of music in his country, composing numerous operas, religious works, and songs. He composed many operas, religious works, and songs, but unfortunately, his works are rarely heard today. His works were enchantingly colorful and compelling. Perhaps these works were influenced by Liszt's symphonic poems, which dominated the world at the time. However, the polonaise and mazurka rhythms that can be heard here and there are also Polish music. It is a new thought for me. I would like to listen to all the pieces in their entirety. Naxos Japan
