Description:
This is a collection of works by Markopoulos, who astonished listeners with his overflowing lyricism and neo-romanticism in the magnificent cantata *The Liturgy of Orpheus (8.572235)*. From the beautiful resonance between his beloved lyre and the orchestra to the flute melodies that sound as if played by a mythological god, the breath of antiquity comes vividly to life in every piece. In “On the Movement of Shapes,” which takes the form of a piano concerto, modern sounds envelop the somewhat sentimental melodies, creating a dreamlike atmosphere. As you listen, you can’t help but feel a sense of reverence. [Comment provided by Naxos Japan] ---
