Phil Campbell and the Bastard Sons, a band formed by longtime Motorhead guitarist Phil Campbell and his sons, has released its third album. The band's straight-ahead, hard-hitting numbers are as rock 'n' roll as it gets. They are the successors to Lemmy's legacy! Phil Campbell, a rare guitarist who supported Motorhead for a long time, regrettably disbanded Motorhead after Lemmy's death in 2003. In 2004, Phil Campbell and his three sons formed Phil Campbell's All-Star Band, which performed many of Motorhead's classic songs at Wacken Open Air. The same year, the band changed its name to Phil Campbell and the Bastard Sons and released an EP under the band's name. The band then signed with major German label Nuclear Blast and made their album debut in 2006 with "The Age of Absurdity".Their second album, "We're the Bastards," released in 2008, showed off their wide range of nostalgia, from bluesy to stoner-ish songs. Now, Phil Campbell and the Bastard Sons will release their first new album in three years. The album, titled "Kings of the Asylum," is a return to a more bombastic path that emits a strong Motorhead stench. The album is a straight-up rock 'n' roll number with no frills at all, and Motorhead fans will be excited. Motorhead fans are sure to be excited.
