One of the most representative albums of the golden era, with its striking red jacket, is back on vinyl! The steel guitar and rhythm guitar duo Santo & Johnny, known for the famous slumbering ballad "Sleep Walk," released their second album in 1960. This is their second album released in 1960. The dreamy M-4, M-6, and M-13 are reminiscent of "Sleep Walk," and their handwork on the well-known standards M-2 and M-5 is also superb. The steel guitar plays the main melody, while the electric guitar and drums provide a simple accompaniment. This surprisingly simple sound, with steel guitar playing the main melody and electric guitar and drums providing simple accompaniment, continues to attract many pop music fans even now, more than 50 years later. However, I feel that there is a tremendous amount of information contained in such a simple sound. (In Japanese terms, it is the wabi-sabi of haiku, or the sense of reading between the lines.) I feel like I have tasted that kind of emotion every time I listen to Santo & Johnny's albums. (This item is the same as Disc-1 of the 3-disc box set previously released as ODR6810-12.
