They brought in Billy Vaughan, who would later become successful, and their rapid ascent began with the Top 10 hit "Trying," which he wrote himself, and they climbed to the top of the top vocal groups. The group's musicality, which conveys the conscience of American pop music to the present day, is a nostalgic and beautifully dreamy experience even today.
