A collection of solo works by Stephen Mead. On this album, Stephen Mead plays the euphonium with grace, backed by brass ensembles, string quartets, electronic sounds, and mixed ensembles. The title tune, "Dream Times" by Hiroki Takahashi, was written in April 2014 for a concert by the Speer Chamber Ensemble with Stephen Mead, with the meaning of "a dreamlike time for the audience to enjoy. Meade's superb technique and brilliant cadenza are a must-hear. The album also includes Frank Greeno's "Ace" for euphonium solo and brass quintet, a world premiere recording, and Roderick Skipp's "Euphonium" for euphonium and electronic sounds, for a total of eight works. Stephen Mead is admired by euphonium players around the world. This is Stephen Mead's full-length work, in which he pursues and brings out the best of the euphonium's charms.
