ALTUS Bertini Collection 6-CD set of Bertini's symphonic masterpieces. Bertini is well-known in Japan as a Mahler conductor, but the recordings here include royal repertoire other than Mahler, such as Beethoven, Brahms, Bruckner, and R. Strauss. All of these recordings are the essence of Bertini's music making, and are indispensable masterpieces for understanding this conductor. Shostakovich's Shostakovich No. 14 with Dieskau is also worth listening to. The commentary includes the original recording of the original recording. The "Life of a Hero" is one of the best performances of the Cologne period. When I heard about the project of this live collection from Aluts, it was one of the recordings I most strongly requested for release. I personally remember the Maestro's performance of "Pelléas et Mélisande" as one of the most memorable performances I have heard by the Maestro other than Mahler, along with Schoenberg's "Pelléas et Mélisande" in Vienna.(From the commentary of conductor Yoshitoshi Inoue) King International
