[58:55] Ever since Debussy composed his Sonata for Flute, Viola and Harp, this arrangement has become a firm format in chamber music, and more and more composers have written for it. This album is a collection of pieces written for this orchestration by various modern and contemporary composers since Debussy.Many of the works are reminiscent of modern French music, perhaps because of the impressionistic character and color of the harp, but the "Elegiac Trio" by Arnold Bax of modern England is a fine piece full of Celtic melancholy. On the other hand, Jessica Meyer's "My Heart is a Whirling Sea" by Jessica Meyer, born in 1974, is a rewarding contemporary music that includes special techniques such as the flute's shakuhachi-like, uneven breath and the harp's tapping on the body.
