Half Japanese, half German! The gifted young cellist Danjuro Ishizaka joins ONYX! Danjuro Ishizaka, a cellist of Japanese descent born in Germany, is a young prodigy who boasts a brilliant record of achievements, including first prizes at the Casade, Lutoslawski, Munich, and Berlin Feuermann International Competitions, an Echo Classics Award for his debut CD, and selection as a BBC "New Generation Artist". He is a young prodigy with an impressive list of accomplishments. His most recent award is the Hideo Saito Memorial Fund Award, which he received together with Kazuki Yamada in 2012. Danjuro Ishizaka is the newest addition to the ONYX label in the UK, which has been growing rapidly through the participation of numerous major artists and the discovery of young talent. The first release on the ONYX label is a selection of masterpieces for cello, all of which have their roots in folk music.The program will fully demonstrate Danjulo Ishizaka's unique characteristics, which include his restrained vibrato technique and his reputation for beautiful tone and expressiveness.
