Description:
This is the 8th full-length released in 23 years by a Finnish melancholic/melodic death metal band. Formed in 1999, the band was one of the most popular Finnish bands of the 00's in Japan, and after nearly 10 years of inactivity, they released their first pure studio full-length album in about 11 years. The band is led by Tuomas Saukkonen (WOLFHEART/DAWN OF SOLACE), who is also the core of the band, and features a new singer, Paavo Laapotti, a finalist in the Voice Of Finland 2022 competition. With the addition of Paavo, who has a distinctive clean voice, the emphasis on clean vocals has increased significantly, and the melodeath color has receded. On the other hand, the instrumental parts with solid yet melancholic G riffs and cold-toned synths are typical of BEFORE THE DAWN, showing no signs of a 10-year blank. This is a piece that makes the wailing melodies that have been the band's greatest weapon stand out even more, and shows the band's evolution into a melancholic metal band such as AMORPHIS.
