Swedish trumpeter Peter Asplund is set to release his 11th album under his own name, *In One Breath*. The album features Hans Anderson on bass and Johan Löfrantz Ramsay on drums from his group “Aspiration.” The album features vocals by Emmalissa Hallander, who toured with Asplund and recorded the album *Out of Reach* for Prophone Records, as well as piano by Lars Jansson. This ensemble consists of the same musicians who appeared on his previous album, *Out of This World*. From “Opening” and “The Moment We Begin”—sung as a vocalise by Emmalissa—all the way to “Hidden from View,” every track was composed and arranged by Asplund. The trumpet and vocals, enveloped in the gentle sound of the trio, intertwine seamlessly, creating a musical world where time flows at a leisurely pace. Asplund appeared as a guest on Vivian Buczek’s album *Le Grand Michel*, an “homage to Michel Legrand,” and had included one of Legrand’s works in the *Out of This World* program. An atmosphere reminiscent of French jazz permeates this entire album. Emmarisa provided vocals on Tuva Berienheim’s *Skärgårdsjazz* (Archipelago Jazz). Her slightly melancholic and romantic style—a blend of Scandinavian and American jazz—adds a new dimension to Asplund’s musical world. (From the manufacturer’s information)
