Meridian has been expanding its fan base with its mysterious musicality that mixes electronic music, krautrock, exotica, and psychedelic rock with traditional Colombian music as its base. The theme of their latest album is a challenging one, exploring the possibilities of the electric guitar while keeping within the context of tropical Latin music. Taking inspiration from the golden age of rumba congolese, highlife, and afrobeat, as well as the South American music influenced by them - champeta, cumbia, and chicha, and the Brazilian tropicália and angla psychedelia - the album avoids distortion and clichés, opting for a pure and clean approach, avoiding distortion and clichés. The result is a fearless sonic experimentation infused with discovery, invention, playfulness, and emotion, resulting in an unparalleled sonic explosion.
