A neo-traditional dance music masterpiece on a cosmic scale, thoroughly researched and reinterpreted from a wide variety of traditional Colombian music. !!!!!!! Following the album "CUMBIA SIGLO XXI", which brought many music fans beyond the boundaries of Latin music with its sound of psychedelic, krautrock, and no-wave music based on traditional Colombian music, the Meridian Brothers have released their long-awaited new album! This time, it is a collaboration with Confundo Media Luna, a cumbia project by the new generation of neo-tropical movement in Bogota, the capital of Colombia, that has attracted a great deal of attention. The content of the album, which is of particular interest to us, is a unique pursuit of the "power format" of Caribbean music in Colombia, an ensemble of accordion, congas, electric bass, guacharaca, caja, and vocals, as they always remember to respect traditional music while always being innovative. This is a work that pursues the "power format" of Caribbean music in Colombia.Once again, the group departs from the basic vallenato format to explore once more the variety of music scattered throughout Colombia, including the music known as savanero, which is played in Sucre and Cordoba. At the same time that he was inspired by the richness of cumbia, bugerengue, and son vallenato, he was also influenced by the more cosmopolitan sensibility of barranquillas, which freely mixed traditional rhythms with rock and funk. It is interesting to note that this thorough exploration of the music of the past has resulted not only in the extraction and preservation of the essence of traditional music, but also in music that can be heard as extremely futuristic. Even in songs that seem traditional, the rhythms are glitched to create new sounds, and little twists and turns create new melodies, new ways of expression, and a flourishing of the essence of the tradition.
