There have been young people all over the world who have become obsessed with the mod lifestyle, but perhaps no one has been as obsessed and taken action to reveal it as Eddie Piller, the compiler of this film. He wanted to know more about the original Mod fashions, influencers, and most of all, the original music, and in the days before the Internet, he sent an enormous amount of his enthusiasm and passion via the letters page of a music weekly to Randy Cozzens, a British Mod-Soul music enthusiast, who sent him a copy of his book, "The Mods and the Mods. Randy was asked to compile a guide to the music played in the all-night clubs of London's West End during the heady days of the early 1960s. Compiled from this list, and replaced with contemporary favorites that are hard to find today, the result is a collection of 100 songs from R&B, soul, jazz, beats, and more that could have been heard on the dance floor of the finest and most discerning of the era.
