Naoko Yoshino, a world-class harpist representing Japan, and Marie-Pierre Langrame, a French harpist active as a solo harpist with the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra. This gorgeous recording is a duo album of two world-class harpists who share a common background as winners of the Israel International Harp Competition and have been close friends for many years! The theme of this brilliant harp duo album is a series of "dances" based on the traditional folk music of various countries. The album features a selection of gems such as Falla's "Cubana (Cuban Style)," Bartók's "Hungarian Scene," and Ravel's "Couperin's Tomb," which is described as "The harp is a wonderful instrument to play alone, but a harp duet is even better than that. Langrame and Naoko Yoshino's thoughts and passion are fully conveyed. The latter part of the album is "Sonatine" by Dammers, a rare original work composed for harp duet.This memorable piece was chosen by the two musicians when they first met in 1998 to perform at a gala concert of the winners of the Israel International Harp Competition.
