Since its formation in 1967, the brass-rock band Chicago has been energetically performing in concert for more than half a century, captivating fans around the world with its performances. The band has been on the brink of extinction many times, but each time they have resuscitated themselves and continue to deliver the best of brass rock around the world, making them truly one-of-a-kind. The legendary Chicago took its first major step forward with their 1969 debut, CHICAGO TRANSIT AUTHORITY (at the time the band was called Chicago Transit Authority). With this album, which was released as a double-disc set, Chicago Transit Authority presented the scene with a rich musicality and a sound style that blended rock, jazz, funk, and even pop, slowly but surely making their sound resonate throughout the United States and the world. Slowly but surely, their sound began to resonate throughout the U.S. and the world.Inducted into the Hall of Fame at the 2014 Grammy Awards, it was the starting point for Chicago's subsequent glory as a rock giant, and is a very important work for the band and the music scene. The album was originally released on April 28, 1969 and is now available as a CD and 2-CD analog set. The debut album, released on April 28, 1969, reached No. 17 on the U.S. charts, spent 171 weeks on the Top 200 U.S. album chart, earned a double platinum disc, and was nominated for a Grammy Award in the "Best New Artist" category.
