HIPHOP celebrates its 50th anniversary this year, and this summer, ATLANTIC and BAD BOY RECORDS are celebrating the 50th anniversary of this important date in American music and culture history by bringing back to life some of the greatest HipHop/R&B records of all time on analog LP! 112, an R&B vocal group formed by Atlanta natives Slim, Mike, Q, and Darlon, released their #5 U.S. debut album, produced by Sean "Puffy" Combs, Tim & Bob, and Stevie J, an early member of The Hitmen. Hip Hop is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year, and it is said that the music and culture of Hip Hop was born on August 11, 1973, when DJ Kool Herc, the founder of Hip Hop, held the first block party with his sister Cindy Campbell in the Bronx section of New York City. It is said to be the day that the music and culture of hip-hop was born.In the U.S., various events are planned to celebrate this anniversary year, including a special tribute performance at the 65th Grammy Awards ceremony in February, and the "HIP HOP 50 LIVE" event at Yankee Stadium in New York City on August 11. The Warner Music Group is also planning a variety of events to celebrate this anniversary year. Warner Music Group will also celebrate the 50th anniversary of this important date in the history of American music and culture by bringing back to life some of the label's most celebrated Hip Hop and R&B albums on analog LP! The releases from July to August will include many albums released in the 90's by Bad Boy Records led by Sean "Diddy" Combs, also known as Puff Daddy, and its surrounding labels, which emerged in 1994 and has since established itself as a mainstream hip-hop label and reigned as a representative label of the East Coast scene. The collection includes many important albums in the history of Hip Hop, including million-selling albums by TOTAL, 112, Faith Evans, and many others.112/112, an R&B vocal group formed by Slim, Mike, Q, and Darlon from Atlanta, Georgia, was signed to Bad Boy Records by Sean "Puffy" Combs, and released their self-titled debut album in New York City in 1996. Their self-titled debut album was released in New York in 1996. Produced by Sean "Puffy" Combs, Tim & Bob, and Stevie J, an early member of The Hitmen, the debut album debuted at #5 on the Billboard Top R&B/HipHop Albums chart.
