Lebanese-born, Armenian-based musician Levon Eskenian's work with Armenia's leading musician Komitas, who formed the Gurdjieff Ensemble in 2008 to explore the music of Gurdjieff, known as a leader of Armenia's spiritual and existential initiatives and as a writer, dancer, and composer. In 2008, Eskenian formed the Gurdjieff Ensemble to explore the music of Georges I. Gurdjieff, known as a leader of Armenian spiritual/existential efforts and as a writer, dancer, and composer, and debuted in 2011 with "Music of Georges I. Gurdjieff" on ECM. His latest effort is a group of Eskenian folk instruments playing the music of Komitas, Armenia's most respected musician.
