Description:
The "voice of Brazil" that captivates the world. Zé Ibarra, a member of Barra Desejo, has released his long-awaited solo debut album! As a member of the Latin Grammy Award-winning Barra Desejo, Zé Ibarra made his first appearance in Japan at Fruezinho 2023. The band sent the packed house into a frenzy, and many were especially enchanted by Zé's beautiful high-tone voice. Zée's voice has also been especially bright in Brazil, and in 2022 she will accompany Milton Nascimento, who has announced his retirement from concerts, on his last world tour as a singer and guitarist. He was also selected as the opening act for the tour, and he has been attracting large crowds in Brazil, the land of song. Marques, 256." is the first solo album by Zé Ibarraha. The title is taken from the address of an old building in the Gávea district of Rio, which is also his home. The aura of the building, the memories associated with it, and his own personal growth were the catalyst for the creation of this album. The recording was also made on the inner staircase of the building. The only accompaniment is the guitar or piano he plays himself. Although this is an extremely simple piece of work, the organic combination of the two, and above all, the singing voice that even Milton recognized, is a masterpiece. In an age when musicians all over the world are trying to outdo each other in every way possible, there are not many artists who can compete in such a straightforward manner. From "Do a Do," composed by Dora Morelenbaum, a close friend of Barra Desejo, to the final Milton song, "San Vicente," the repertoire, which seems to sum up the best of old and new Brazilian music, is also superb. With a voice that could be described as Milton Nascimento's successor, or with a flexible expressiveness reminiscent of Gilberto Gil or Caetano Veloso, Zé Ibarraha is surely going to lead Brazilian music in the years to come. Don't miss this album, where you can enjoy the naked charm of his origins. Liner notes and lyrics are included. (From the manufacturer's information)
