The new recording features the masterful "Felicidade," with its free and flowing playing of detailed passages, the emotional guitar masterpiece "Cathedral," the beautiful "Kaguraka," with its continuous echoing "Japanese" scales, and the commissioned work "Tap Slap," in which the special technique that gave the work its title spins the music. This is an interesting and vivid album that embodies the deepening of the guitar. Hiroshi Kogure, winner of the 60th Tokyo International Guitar Competition and the 17th Velia International Guitar Competition in Greece, began playing classical guitar at the age of 18, studying under Mototaro Takada and Shinichi Fukuda. After graduating from Waseda University with a Bachelor's degree in Education, he moved to France. He studied at the Conservatory of Strasbourg with Duo Mélisse (Alexis Mouzoulakis and Susana Prieto) and theorbo and bass with Yasunori Imamura. Meister Music
