A ronin Nameless, who has given up his name in the turbulent times, and a blond-haired, blue-eyed swordsman Rarou, who serves the Ming Dynasty as an assassin, but has unfulfilled feelings. The two "Stranger," two gentiles separated from the world, are about to collide in a clash of fate over the mysterious boy Kaitaro! The two gentiles, separated from the rest of the world, are on a collision course of destiny! The cast includes Tomoya Nagase, a first-time voice actor, Yuri Chinen (Hey! Say! JUMP), Naoto Takenaka, and veteran voice actors Koichi Yamadera, Unsho Ishizuka, and Akio Otsuka, as well as popular young voice actors Maaya Sakamoto and Mamoru Miyano. The director is Masahiro Ando, known for his action direction of "Cowboy Bebop" and "Fullmetal Alchemist.Despite this being his first attempt, the director Hideaki Anno (director of "Evangelion") was said to be "as good as it gets" and his directing skills overwhelm the viewer! --The film is set in a time of warfare. There was a boy named Zitaro who was chased by an armed group of Ming Dynasty. At an Araji temple where he has escaped, he meets a mysterious ronin, "Nanashi," who has renounced his name and sealed his sword. The armed group pursues Kiotaro in coordination with the lord of Akaike, where they confront Nanashi. The secret hidden in Zitaro inspires the ambitions of many, and Namae meets Ranami, a man who will later become their sworn enemy. As their respective agendas quickly turn into a torrent, the fate of Zitaro and Nanashi is uncertain... The bonus disc includes the making of "Stranger," the pilot film, special features, trailers, TV spots, cast interviews, specially selected original photography footage (tentative), storyboards (still images), specially selected original drawings (still images), Fumihiko Takayama's script re-recording (still images), a conversation between director Masahiro Ando and Fumihiko Takayama (still images), a collection of settings (still images).
