Description:

Legendary Trumpeter! Japanese masterpieces played by Doksitzel's beautiful sound! From the "Melodiya x Obsession" series, which reissues Melodiya's classic recordings and rare Melodiya sound sources that have become obsolete or hard to find, comes a reissue of the legendary "Japanese Lyric Songs" recorded by Timofey Doksitsel, one of the great trumpeters who was active as the principal trumpet player of the Bolshoi Theater and demonstrated the potential of the trumpet as a solo instrument. One of the greatest trumpet players of all time, Timofey Dokshizel's legendary recording "Japanese Lyric Songs" has been reissued! An outstanding musician, Doksitserl has accomplished many spectacular feats in trumpet playing, ensuring the trumpet's reputation as a brilliant solo instrument that rivals the flexibility of woodwinds, the expressiveness of strings, and the agility of the bel canto. His extensive repertoire includes Baroque and Classical works by Bach, Biber, Haydn, Hummel, Albinoni, Tartini, and Vivaldi, as well as modern and contemporary works by Myaskovsky, Shostakovich, Weinberg, Sichedrin, Espai, Artunian, Gershwin, Tan Berg, Pahmutova, and others, to modern and contemporary works, almost all of which were written for or can be played on the trumpet. He has also edited numerous classical works, and his Haydn, Hummel, and Arutunian concertos, which are among the most important repertoire for trumpet players, have been performed by many trumpet players with his cadenzas. As a pedagogue, he has trained many talented trumpet players as a professor at his alma mater, the Gnesin College of Music, and has written several books, including a treatise on technique and memoirs. This album contains traditional Japanese songs specially arranged for trumpet players by composer Yoshiki Miyamoto. The tunes are freely developed in the form of variations that take full advantage of the instrument's potential, including violin and flute techniques and vocal cadenzas. These masterpieces, which all Japanese have heard, strongly appeal to our Japanese hearts with Doksitzer's superb technique and his beautiful sound.
