Description:

Verdi(1813-1901): Opera "La trouvere" ("Il Trovatore" in French), 4 acts, libretto by Salvatore Cammarano, translation in French by Emilien Pacini, based on the play "El trovador" by Antonio Garcia Gutierrez World premiere of the comparative revision by David Lawton... Based on Verdi's masterpiece opera Il Trovatore, known for "The Blacksmith's Chorus" and "Behold the Dreadful Fire," which was first performed in Madrid in 1836, the opera is a medieval tale of knights and love between a man and a woman, a love affair, and a mistaken identity. It was premiered in Rome in 1853, performed in Paris the following year in the "Italian language," and two years later in the "French version," rewritten in the style of a grand opera by Verdi himself. Two years later, "La Trouvère" was performed in Brussels in a French version rewritten in the style of a grand opera by Verdi himself, and the following year, in 1857, it was performed at the Paris Opera to great acclaim.Verdi made several revisions to the French lyrics translated by Emilien Pacini, added a ballet scene for the gypsies, and modified the finale to make it suitable for a grand opera. The production is directed by the brilliant Robert Wilson, who has been extremely impressive in recent productions of John Adams' "Hamanabe" (The Beach). In recent years, his "Einstein on the Beach" by John Adams has attracted much attention for its four and a half hours of "experimental and poetic visual world. He took control of all the staging, equipment, and lighting, creating a unique world in which people in strange makeup move slowly around on a stage painted blue, and dancers dressed as boxers dance during the ballet scenes. The occasional appearance of an old gypsy also plays an extremely memorable role. The music, conducted by Roberto Abbado, is full of emotion, and the singers' passionate singing is also a must-see. Please enjoy this extremely unique video. Naxos Japan
