Description:
The organ of the St. Florian Monastery was built between 1770 and 1774 by Franz Xaver Krismann (1770-1774) from Slovenia. Initially it had 74 stops and 5230 pipes, but after several expansions, 103 stops and 7386 pipes were added. In 1873, at Bruckner's suggestion, the instrument was rebuilt, and it is said that the foot keys were made to fit Bruckner's feet. In 1996, on the 100th anniversary of Bruckner's death, the organ was also reconditioned, and it continues to produce beautiful sounds every day. This album contains Bruckner's Symphony No. 5 (organ version), arranged by Matthias Giesen himself, who was the organist at St. Florian from 1999 to 2003. The orchestral sound has been transferred to the organ in its entirety, and you will be able to enjoy the sound of the instrument in this brilliantly performed work. Naxos Japan
