The complete "Messiah" arranged for wind ensemble by the Norwegian arranger Aalesold. The Norwegian Wind Ensemble performing this piece is the oldest wind ensemble in Norway, having its origins in the "First Brigade Band" or "Division Band" founded in 1734 at the Fredriksten Fortress in Halden. The ensemble is based in Halden. Based in Halden, they are known for their unique activities, giving 120 concerts a year and performing all over the world. The Messiah, with one or two modern woodwinds, two or three period brasses, cello and double bass (one modern each), harpsichord, and organ, is conducted by David Hill, who performs brilliantly with the BBC Singers and their excellent soloists.
