Veteran Massachusetts pianist David Deveau has been teaching in the music program at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology since 1988, where he has mentored many talented pianists. Known for his unique album releases, Deveau here again attempts to bring together Mozart and Beethoven with the contemporary American composer Harbison. Harbison, like Debeau, teaches at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and is a close friend of Debeau. Debeau performs chamber versions of two piano concertos by Mozart and Beethoven and uses Harbison's cadenzas for Beethoven's, thus successfully linking the classical and the contemporary. The ethereal beauty of Harbison's original "Anniversary Waltz" is also a treat to the ears. Naxos Japan
