The album contains three works by Franck, Pierné, and Vidor, all active in late 19th century France. All have an important place in the flutist's repertoire, and although two of them were originally written as violin sonatas, the arranged versions for flute have been as popular and frequently performed as the original forms. Gallois has taken the time to explore the significance of playing these three pieces on the flute, bringing to life the delicate harmonies of music from the transition from the 19th to the 20th century, and giving new life to them with deft breaths. Piano is played by Kazunori Seo, a trusted partner of Gallois. Seo, whose previous work "Paris Conservatory Graduation Examination Collection" was greeted with the surprise of a flutist playing the piano, continues his detailed ensemble playing "beyond the realm of accompaniment" in this work, as only his thorough knowledge of the flute can.
