Description:
Jay and the Americans were a five-piece American group that had 18 songs on the U.S. hit charts from the early 1960s to the early 1970s, and remained active throughout the 1960s. The album, which served as a starting point for the group, was produced and directed by Jerry Lieber and Mike Stoller, a songwriting duo and production team that was very active at the time. The group's R&B-influenced style, spontaneous, crystal-clear songs, and charm have made them a very popular group. This album is their first album, and is the starting point of their career. The CD release includes four bonus tracks that have since become hits.
