Description:
Jazz pianist Koji Goto. This is a single piano performance of Tsutomu Okada's music and his own compositions, which he has performed together in countless sessions and inspired many others. Report/team MOGU There was a bassist named Tsutomu Okada who performed with Koji Goto in the trio "Okada-gumi" and on countless other stages. He is a veteran bassist who has probably been one of Goto's greatest inspirations. When Okada was fighting a long battle with illness, the production of this album began as a show of support for him. The album features Okada's compositions with "Koji Goto's piano" playing. I called it the "Ontology Project. Even if he is not able to stand on stage at the moment, his presence is more than enough meaning. Goto and his staff were in the midst of such thoughts. Just as they were beginning the song selection process, Okada departed. Okada had departed. It is true that we were quite perplexed by the sudden change in circumstances, but even so, the option of stopping the production of this album did not occur to us. Even though he had disappeared from sight, Okada remained a special presence in our lives. I lost the concept that could be clearly put into words, but somehow I had the feeling that even if the work was still directed at Okada, it would not fit into the categories of "requiem" or "requiem". Listening with my eyes closed, I was able to record "a sound as if Koji Goto were playing the piano in front of me. It was as realistic as if I were sitting in the front row at a live music club in town. Or perhaps we could say that it is the sound that one hears when standing on the same stage. Okada was also playing catch with Goto with this sound. This album will be a milestone. It is neither the beginning nor the end of some story. It is a pure interim report of a pianist, Koji Goto, who continues to grow and develop. Supported by team MOGU and TOAST (from the liner notes)
