Description:
Diverse sounds performed by a unique trio! Here comes an album by a unique trio consisting of three instruments: saxophone, violin, and piano. The title "Once Upon a Time Emerged from the Gray of Night" was inspired by a painting by Paul Klee, and Tetsuro Kubo composed this commissioned work for the trio. The CD contains five works: Tetsuro Kubo and de Fontaine are original compositions, Milhaud and Ravel replaced the clarinet and cello with saxophone, respectively, and Debussy arranged from piano pieces. Each of the three has extensive experience as soloists and performers, and the sounds and tones produced by this unusual trio vary from piece to piece and are full of irreplaceable charm. ■Comment from the composer on the commissioned work "Once I emerged from the gray of night Paul Klee's "Once Emerged from the Gray of Night" ("Once Emerged from the Gray of Night") is a work featuring a poetic title and abstract color changes. The work is a fusion of the visual and the poetic, expressing the sensation of a new being emerging from the gray of night and then quietly fading away. This work is a musical translation of this clay worldview. At the beginning of the piece, a sustained D tone echoes quietly, and the harmonies gradually reveal themselves on top of it. This symbolizes the emergence from the "gray night" in Klee's work, and the sound develops as if oozing with color. The echoes continually shift, depicting a variety of colors, and eventually converge again on the D sound. Finally, the sound fades away, leaving behind a lingering silence like that left by Klee's works. From sight to sound, from color to echo. Just as Klee combined painting and words, this work attempts to depict his poetic world through music. Tetsuro Kubo (1992 - ) Takaki Yazawa -From the liner notes The unknown sounds of saxophone, violin, and piano, three instruments of different origins and different principles of pronunciation, will be the best guide to visit unnamed places in our consciousness.
