This is the first release of the "Sony Classical Masterpieces Collection 1000," a collection of Beethoven's complete cello sonatas recorded by the 20th century cellist Pablo Casals in 1951 and 1953, in the early stages of his LP career, with the renowned pianist Rudolf Serkin as his partner. The driving force and ups and downs that characterize Beethoven's music are indeed the work of a master. This is a work that had a great influence on the cellists and pianists who followed in his footsteps.
