The soundtrack features Keb Mo, Gary Clark JR, Robert Randall, Billy Gibbons (ZZ Top), and Larkin Poe from the blues world, and Dianne Reeves & Teri Lynn Carrington, Rick Brown, and an actress from the jazz world who also appears in the film. The jazz world will be represented by a collaboration between Dianne Reeves & Teri Lynn Carrington, Rick Brown, and Emmaline, a beautiful female jazz singer who also appears in films as an actress. Candid Records is pleased to announce the release of the soundtrack to the highly anticipated feature film "SWEETWATER"! SWEETWATER, written and directed by Martin Guiggi, tells the true story of Nat "Sweetwater" Clifton, the first African American basketball player to be signed by the NBA, set in the 1950s and starring Kevin Pollack, Richard Dreyfuss, and Robert Richard.The soundtrack album also features an all-star jazz and blues lineup, with superb standards and original songs. The best songs include "The Man I Love" and "Sweet Georgia Brown," sung by Emmaline, who plays Jeannie Staples in the film. Other new songs include Keb Mo's "Take Me Higher" and Larkin Poe's "Righteous Place," written and inspired by Sweetwater Clifton's steel spirit and courage. This is a powerful Jazz & Blues compilation that can also be enjoyed as a Jazz & Blues compilation.
