While retaining the classic club jazz vibe, the album incorporates Fender Rhodes and electric bass, quickly embracing the essence of "fusion"—the last sanctuary amidst the ongoing revival of 1980s sounds—and is packed with the new sound of The Fascinations! From heartfelt original compositions to the relentless beats over which the members unleash passionate improvisations on John Patton’s little-known gem “latona,” "The St. Vitus Dance," widely regarded as an underground dance-jazz classic penned by Horace Silver, Silver’s urban waltz "Mexican Hip Dance," and “'RoundabouMidnight” featuring guest vocalist Kurofune Lady—this album is packed with hard-hitting, meaty, and passionate jazz, ranging from dance jazz to rare groove covers! Takahiro “matzz” Matsuoka of Quosimodo also makes a guest appearance!
