The album witnesses the meeting of two musicians who have built successful independent careers through inventive folk instrumentation, introspective and sincere lyricism, and no small amount of self-deprecation.It was produced with the help of some of the Scottish scene's finest artists, including Louis Abbott (Admiral Fallow), Graeme Smillie (Arab Strap / The Delgados), Kris Drever (Lau), Chris 'Beans' Geddes (Belle & Sebastian), Pete Harvey ( Modern Studies) and Kenny Anderson (King Creosote), recorded and engineered by producer Rod Jones (Idlewild), It was recorded, engineered and mixed by producer Rod Jones (Idlewild) at Post Electric, a studio in Leith. Edinburgh-based Scottish indie-folk-pop act Withered Hand is the solo project of singer-songwriter Dan Willson. Willson released his second EP in 2009 and teamed up with legendary American producer Kramer for his first full-length album, Good News, in 2010.Often described as a "songwriter's songwriter," Kathryn Williams has released 12 full-length albums under her own name since her debut LP, Dog Leap Stairs, in 1999.
