Former Silverchair frontman Daniel Johns has arrived at a sound world where the past, present, and future intersect. Featuring collaborations with many friends, from Van Dyke Parks to local Australian artists, this is his first solo album in 7 years, "FUTURENEVER"! Analog LP to follow distribution! Former Silverchair frontman Daniel Jones, who sold over 10 million records worldwide as a successful alternative rock group in the 1990s, announced an indefinite hiatus in 2011. Frontman Daniel has since gone on to become a solo artist, winning a Grammy in 2016 for co-writing Flume's "Say It" featuring Tove Lo. 2015 saw the release of his debut solo album, TALK, which debuted at #2 on the ARIA Album Chart It debuted at No. 2 on the ARIA Albums Chart. He also made headlines for his marriage (and later divorce) to fellow Australian singer/songwriter Natalie Imbruglia.He has now completed his first new solo album since 2015. FUTURENEVER," which was released on April 22nd, is the first release on his own label in partnership with BMG RIGHTS MANAGEMENT. Being on his own label gave him a great deal of creative freedom, and he took his time in perfecting the album. The latest album features songs that reflect the diverse sounds and styles he has been developing over the past couple of years, and also includes a number of new tracks by Australian producer Chris Emerson's project What So Not, American singer/songwriter Moxie Raia, and Sydney-based musician/producer duo, The Rhythm of the World. The album also features collaborations with Sydney musician/producer duo This Week In The Universe. Even more noteworthy as a fan would be the beautiful collaboration "Emergency Calls Only" with the great Van Dyke Parks.Daniel went to the trouble of delaying the release date by three weeks in order to include this song by the two, who have known each other since they collaborated on the 2002 album "DIOLAMA" during their Silverchair days. Daniel has recently gained popularity with his Spotify original podcast, "Who Is Daniel Johns? Billy Corgan (Smashing Pumpkins), Tom DeLong (Blink 182, Angels & Airwaves), Kevin Parker (Tame Impala), longtime collaborator Van Dyke Parks, and his ex-wife and best friend Natalie Imbruglia. The show, which features a star-studded lineup of guests, has been number one in its native Australia for five consecutive weeks. According to Daniel himself, "FUTURENEVER" was created to be enjoyed as an album. Here is a hopeless romantic, a seeker of his own musical world, who tries to open up a new sound world by fusing his past, present, and future, without worrying about the single release initiative of the moment.
